How much do you really make per sale?
Enter a price and a product cost and OmniProfit works out your real profit across any selling channel — marketplace commission, payment processing, advertising, shipping, expected returns, packaging, tax treatment and allocated overhead included.
What this calculator includes
- Marketplace commission using each channel’s published fee structure
- Payment processing (percentage plus fixed amount)
- Advertising as a per-unit cost, a TACOS percentage or total spend ÷ total sales
- Expected return cost based on your return rate, not every order
- Shipping you charge versus shipping you actually pay
- Tax treatment: inclusive, added on top, or excluded entirely
- Packaging, labour, fulfilment, storage and allocated monthly overhead
What it does not include
- Currency conversion spreads applied by your bank or marketplace
- Import duties and customs brokerage on cross-border shipments
- Chargebacks, fraud losses and A-to-z style claims
- Income tax on your profit — this is a unit-economics tool
Worked example
- Selling price: 50.00
- Product cost: 15.00
- Shipping cost: 5.00
- Advertising (10% TACOS): 5.00
- Channel + payment fees: 5.20
- Expected returns (2%): 0.70
Simple maths says 50 − 15 = 35 profit. Real unit economics on a typical marketplace leaves roughly 19 — a 38% margin rather than 70%.
Frequently asked
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Every calculation runs in your browser. There is no account, no upload and no server-side calculation. Saved scenarios use your browser’s local storage, and the share link contains your calculator inputs, but no account or personal identity.
What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin expresses profit as a share of revenue (profit ÷ net revenue). Markup expresses profit as a share of cost (profit ÷ product cost). A 50% markup is only a 33% margin.
Which costs should I include in ROI?
OmniProfit uses the cash you actually put into the order: product, packaging, labour, shipping, fulfilment, advertising, other costs and allocated overhead. Hover the ROI tooltip to see the exact amount used.
