eBay profit calculator
eBay calculates its final value fee on the total amount of the sale — item, shipping, handling and tax — then adds a fixed per-order fee. That makes the effective rate higher than the headline percentage suggests.

What this calculator includes
- Final value fee on the total amount of the sale including tax
- Fixed per-order fee
- Optional international fee for overseas buyers
- Promoted Listings modelled through the advertising section
- Return shipping and refund handling costs
What it does not include
- Store subscription levels and fee discounts tied to seller status
- Below-standard seller surcharges
- Vehicle, property and classified-ad fee structures
- eBay Shipping label pricing specific to your account
Worked example
- Item price: 60.00
- Shipping charged: 8.00
- Final value fee (13.6% of total): 9.25
- Per-order fee: 0.40
In this illustration, because the fee applies to the full 68.00 rather than the 60.00 item price, the effective rate against your item revenue is higher than the nominal 13.6% category rate.
Frequently asked
Is sales tax really included in the final value fee base?
On eBay the final value fee is calculated on the total amount of the sale, which includes any sales tax collected. OmniProfit uses the “total charged to buyer” base for that reason — switch your tax treatment to see the difference.
How do I include Promoted Listings?
Set Advertising to TACOS and enter your ad rate. Promoted Listings Standard is charged as a percentage of the sale, which behaves exactly like a TACOS percentage.
Why is my category rate different?
eBay rates vary widely by category and by seller status. Override the final value fee percentage in “Marketplace fees & payment” with your own rate.
